Description of the flag

The provincial flag of La Pampa was hoisted for the first time in June 20th, 1996. It was created by means of provincial law #1513, adopted in December 3rd, 1993. The first manufactored copy is depoted in the provincial parlament palace. The law was written by Dr. Luís Alberto Galcerán, head of the justicialist fraction of the provincial parlament.

Articulo 1º: Crease la Bandera de la Provincia de La Pampa, la que será identica a la nacional con dos franjas horizontales azul celeste y al medio una blanca. En el centro de esta última ostentará el escudo provincial.

Article 1st: Let it be created the flag of La Pampa Province, which will be identical to the national flag, with two horizontal sky blue stripes and a white one in between. The center of the latter shall sport the provincial emblem.

Shows a caldén, a local xerophil tree (from the Espinal fitogeografic province), and a pampa indian riding a horse and holding his chuza (a kind of spear).

In 1955 Territory of La Pampa was upgraded to Province under name of
