Overview

The community of Fojnica is in the Central Bosnia Canton, south west of Sarajevo. For heraldry Fojnica is well known since in the Fojnica franciscan monestery was preserved a 15th century Armorial that is one of the most imporatnt sources for the medieval heraldry and genealogy of the South-Eastern Europe.
The emblem of Fojnica shows simbolically a yellow fountain between evergreen wooded mountains, with a wavy line below and year 1365.
I have no info on the possible flag, and hope for the response of the webmasters from <www.fojnica.ba>. The site quotes a name of a decision adopted in the community assembly in 2001: Zakljucak o davanju saglasnosti za raspisivanje javnog natjecaja za izradu grba opcine Fojnica, 07.09.2001. This could be translated as Conclusion on agreement on issuing a public concourse for the design of the coat of arms of Fojnica. Weather this Coat of Arms is a result of this concourse, I could not tell. I suppose that at the same time a flag might have been adopted (if anything was adopted after 2001 - the site has no news regarding the assembly sessions after 2001!).
