Overview

Tomislavgrad - Image made according to the Coat of Arms from <www.tomislavgrad.net>, flag was described to my by a regular visitor of my pages, Marko Puljic.
The flag is white over red bicolour, probably in ratio 1:2, with coat of arms in the middle. The coat of arms is: per fess, chief Gules a Crown Or, base Argent a Church Gules. Shield is bordered Or, in base surrounded by a wreath of mais and topped by the name of the city. The crown is, I guess, the same crown which apears on several Croatian county flags, there refered as the crown of king Zvonimir. The crown is set here as symbol of the first Croatian king Tomislav who was crowned in the fields surrounding the city in year 925. The church is (presumably) the main church in the city. Tomislavgrad is name of the city reintroduced in 1990's, previously called Duvno. The city was first renamed to Tomislavgrad in 1920's, during the celebrations of millenium of Croatian kingdom (it was told that the city was actually named in honour of the son of the Yugoslav king, prince Tomislav, who is in turn named afte
