The flag of Joćo Monlevade is divided horizontally green over brown, with
a white triangle based on the hoist, its apex at the center of the flag.
Centered on the white triangle is a red equilateral triangle, with its base
horizontal, between the head of a man with a winged hat, representing
commerce (toward the hoist), and a cogwheel, representing industry, both
black. (Law No. 249 of 15 January 1971)
