Flag with one bar

by Gvido Petersons, 30 March 2001

I can't present any documents suporting my posting but this week in Latvia (Riga and Liepaja) is going on U18 ice hockey Div. I tournament and Belarus is participating too. All flags, and other decors with Belarus flag (on team suits, bus) look like that with red line on hoist is on all flags - vertically and normaly hanged. Left from this red line is one more white with metallic pins for hanging.

Is there ever a one-bar on the inner edge? Perhaps it's a construction point, to reinforce the hoist, and not a design element.

The red line is thin, and only at the part where the sleeve meets the actual flag. When it is one bar, it is usally the side of the ornament that is cloest to the hoist of the flag. Your right about the design point, but some flags have it, some do not. It depends on the maker. The Belarus flag I have has a white sleve, but there is no red "construction" bar.

Vertical Banner

by Zach Harden, 2 November 2001

In a photo found online one can see  the current Belarussian President, Alexander Lukashenko. Behind him one can see the vertical flag of Belarus.  No ornament this time, just the green and red.  There is no official ratio for this flag, but turned the flag 90 degrees to keep it 1:2.
