The new commune of Suraua includes former communes of Camuns, Surcasti, Tersnaus and Uors-Peiden.

The new flag has been adopted on 07 May 2002. I have no information on the symbols but I think that the 4 pointed star stands for the 4 former communes, the circle being certainly to symbolize the merger.
