Flag of Štrpce

Štrpce is a small municipality located in a valley surrounded by high mountains in southeastern part of Kosovo province. The municipality has an absolute majority of Serbian population.

The flag was designed by the Serbian Heraldry Society "White Eagle".

Ivan Sarajčić, 5 June 1999

Comparing this banner of arms with that of Istok, it seems that triangles in base and vertical lines are popular elements of modern coats of arms of Kosovo.
Štrpce must be a new municipality (i.e. according to the new administrative divisions from 1990), since the place of that name was part of the municipality of Uroševac before 1990. The place is on the road from Uroševac to Prižren.
