Overview

Flag and Coat of Arms of Jagüey Grande (Matanzas Prov., Cuba) at <www.atenas.cult.cu>.
Dov Gutterman, 12 April 2004

The flag is white with a black ascending diagonal stripe charged with three yellow stars and the municipal coat of arms in canton. my image is using the coat of arms from the municipal website. I have made the stars "normal" in shape and not "squashed" like on the source and I have darkened the border of the star surmonting the shiled in order to increase its visibility.

Coat of Arms

from <www.atenas.cult.cu>

The coat of arms seems to show three different kinds of landscapes. The years 1857 and 1957 are placed in the upper left and right part of the shield, respectively. The yellow ribbon below the shield bears the writing JAGUEY (left) GRANDE (right). The shield is surmonted by two branches and a white star.
