Number of inhabitants by 31.12. 2000: 221. The spa of Karlova Studánka was founded in 1785. However, curative springs were first mentioned as early as in 1768. In 1780 a chemical analysis of the springs was performed. The spa flourished in 1803. Most buildings built in a typical spa style were erected in the 40s of the 19th century. In recent years, the centre of the spa was reconstructed and the mountain Bílá Opava river was embanked.
