The community was named after the brook Breznice (the water which flows through the birch-forest)
Description of the Coat of Arms:
On a blue shield on a green mountain with goldyellow river a silver front of the church with in the center the tower and with red roof. In the tower the gate and five windows (three and two) are voided, all black. In both topcorners of the shield is a goldyellow birchtwig with three leaves and two catkins.
