A caricature of 1926 by O. Garvens in Kladderadatsch, reprinted in Kuhn 1991 [kuh91], shows several flags signifying the ideas of different political parties for a 'compromise flag'. Although never real proposals, they show the unbridgeable differences of the parties, and caricature the many compromise flag or unity flag proposals of the time. Each flag is carried by a flag-bearer in clothes typical for his class and political orientation.
