The flag and the coat-of-arms of the district of Neukölln were officially adopted on 12th April 1956. Ratio 3:5. The territory of Neukölln did not change in the Berlin district reform of January 2001, thus the flag and coat-of-arms are still valid. Neukölln was founded in 1360 when the Order of St. John, who owned the area, expanded their estate Richardsdorf to a real villa
