Today, RTP broadcasted a 1981 movie with Christopher Walken called "The
Dogs of War". It's set in a small and fictitious african country under a
fierce dictatorship, called Zangora. See IMDB's file of the movie here.

The West-African country of Zangaro had a flag with a yellow star with 10 points in the centre and from the centre red and black stripe emerge, like in the Dutch naval jack.

The flag of the country appears a couple of times in the beginning, and Walken's character arrives there, but since I wasn't expecting it I didn't set my brain to recording mode. What follows is to be considered dubious, pending confirmation.
What's certain: the flag has a gyronny pattern in red and black with a
yellow, 5-pointed star in the center. What's uncertain: the orientation of
the star, the number of parts in the gyronny and their orientation. The
shade of red might have been darker too.

[Editor's Note: Turns out the star is actualy 8-pointed over 10 segments. ]
