Presentation of the municipality

Salon-de-Provence is a city of c. 40,000 inhabitants.

In Salon lived the famous astrologist Michel de Nostre-Dame, a.k.a. Nostradamus (1503-1566), whose Centuries astrologiques are still a best-seller and an inexhaustible source of money for modern prophets.
The Air Force basis of Salon hosts the Air Force School (Ecole de l'Air) and the Military Air Force School (Ecole Militaire de l'Air).

Emperi Castle, the former residence of the archbishops of Arles, hosts the Emperi Museum. The Museum displays the Brunon collections, which were purchased in 1967 by the Army Museum. The collections include more than 10,000 items related to the French Army from Louis XIV to 1918. Several flags are said to be displayed in the Museum.
