Description of the flag

The flag of Athens is blue with a (inner) gold and (outer) red border, on the model of the flag of Attica. In the middle appears a white cross charged with a blue disk with a large white border fimbriated in gold. This border has gold olive tree branches. The blue disk has a white and gold representation of the head of the goddess Athena.

The proportion of the flag is 2:3.

The flag was adopted in 1995.
