Presentation of Loucas G. Matsas Salvage and Towage Maritime Company

Based in Piraeus, the Loucas G. Matsas company operated in the Gulf during the Iran-Iraq war. It also extinguished the fire on the Anafi, laden with 26,000 tonnes of coal, removed the cargo from the Esperanza III, heavily aground the port of Mumbai (Bombay, India). When the cement carrier Dystos capsized and sunk off Euboia Island (Greece) coast, the company team, together with 16 divers, recovered the bodies of 17 crew members and removed the vessel's bunkers and oil residues from a depth of 35 m.
