Podturen is a community in the Medimurje County with some
4,500 inhabitants, about 1,700 in the town of the same name, its
center. It is some 15 km north-east of Cakovec,
approximately at the point where borders of three states (HR, SI,
HU) meet.
The symbols were adopted on 18 December 2004 (It was actually
adopted a document named "Zakljucak o odabiru likovnog
rješenja zastave i grba Opcine Podturen" = Conclusion
on selection of the design of the flag and the coat of arms of
the Community of Podturen) by the Community Assembly, after a
public concourse issed among other flaces at : <forum.opcina-podturen.h>.

The design had yet to be confirmed by the Ministry of
