Overview

Opuzen is a city half way between the point where Neretva flows into Croatia and its delta (i.e. between Metkovic and Ploce). There are about 3,600 inhabitants, some 2,800 in the city itself. The community was given city status in 1997. These symbols must have been adopted around the same time.
The coat of arms of Opuzen is argent a tower gules issuant from a boat azure. The boat here is an other appearance of the traditional boats and ships from Neretva river seen in several other coats of arms of the Neretva valley.
The flag is blue with the coat of arms in the middle.
