Overview

The official gazette of Koprivnica and Križevci County is available on line at <www.glasila.hr>. In the on-line numbers one can find descriptions of CoAs and flags of communities, mainly in their statutes adopted in 2001 (after some non-flag related administrative changes requiering adoption of new statutes). So, these statutes do not introduce the symbols. Further on, not all new statutes describe the symbols. Some only mention that there is some other decision regarding the CoA and flag (sometimes quoting the titile, sometimes not), and sometimes there is provision that such decisions shall be made.
One of them is Statut Opcine Ferdinandovac, 28. rujna 2001. Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, br. 12/01, god. IX, Koprivnica, 11. listopada 2001.
The coat of arms is: Vert St. Ferdinand haloed and holding a flag and sword all or and in base a bar argent.
Of course, St. Ferdinand is the patron of Ferdinandovac. The bar in base represents river Drava, and green field around it stands for the fertile plains and rich oak woods of Ferdinandovac region.
The flag is green with yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.

According to [ern03], Ministry of Administration approved the design on 13 July 1995. Also designers are named: Željko Moslavac & Spomenko Relic. Ferdinandovac is named after the King Ferdinand V (of Hungary/Croatia, a.k.a. Emperor Ferdinand I of Austria) who buit the town after urbanistic principles.
