Overview

Pakraci is a city of about 16,500 inhabitants, half of them living in the settlement of the same name and others in the surrounding villages under the same administration. It is some 40 km west of Požega on what is the traditional westernmost border of Slavonia. In 1992/93 reform Pakrac was given status of a community, but was upgraded to city status in 1997.
The coat of arms of Pakrac is one of the latest granted arms in the region in 1932 (latter the coats of arms were adopted locally): azure between two bars wavy argent a marten passant proper (maroon bellied argent). The coat of arms is obviously based on the historical coat of arms of Slavonia.
The flag is adopted in 1990's (1996), blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.
