Overview

Primošten is a community on the coast of the Šibenik-Knin County, some 15 km south of Šibenik. Total population 5,000, some 1,700 in the town of the same name. Primošten is an old pitoresque little town built over small illets just of the coast, connected with a single brigde with it (as the name sates, as "primosten2 wouldmean more or less "bridged over").
Information I received from Željko Pavasovic, webmaster of the site <www.primosten.hr> in 2002. The symbols were adopted in 1999, however I have no further details.
The Coat of Arms pictures in a blue shield a statue of the Black Madonna surrounded with seven eight-pointed golden stars. The stars represent the severn islets on which Primošten is built. The Black Madonna with the Child is a statue that alegedly protects Prmošten from various disasters.
The flag is blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle.
The Ceremonial Flag is vertically hoisted banner with the fly ending triangulary containing the coat of arms below the name of the community. Under the coat of arms are fig and olive branches and a bunch of grapes.
