Population around 3,000, 2,600 of them in Dugopolje itself. In recent years the community made some smart moves attracting the investments and building small modern factories, and is therefore among the most prosperous communities in the Dalmatian inlands, otherwise quite pooar regions. The modern highway Zagreb-Split passed though this year making Dugopolje and important crossroads (for the way towards Dubrownik and south).
The coat of arms of Dugopolje is Azure a mountain argent with three tops issuant from base and in chief a downpointing sword argent hilted or and infront of it scales also or. The mountain represent the Mosor mountain under which the community lays, while the sword and scales are symbols of St. Michael, the patron of the community.
The flag is deep blue with the yellow bordered coat of arms in the middle. The blue colour of the flag is chosen due to the blue folk costume from Dugopolje worn by females called modrina.
The Ministry of Justice, Administration and Local Self-Government approved the use of the coat of arms and the flag.
