Overview

Gradište is a community in the Vukovar-Srijem County, just north of Županja, 30 km southwest of Vukovar. Population about 3,500 alsmot exclusivly living in the village of the same name.
The coat of arms of Gradište is Gules a fleur-de-lis fleury argent and in chef two pumpkins or. The richly ornamented pumpkins (or whatever this is called) is a beautiful part of the local folklore.
I estimate the adoption date tentatively to 1998 when the flag must have been adopted, but I found no details as yet.

They're gourds, carved from fruits, also called "gourds". The gourd is a member of the cucumber family, and is closely related to the pumpkin and squash.

I'd suggest "gourds" as the generic name for fruits in Cucurbits when they don't have a specific name (like pumpkin, squash, melon, watermelon, marrow, cucumber, etc.). The name "gourd" comes from "gorde", itself an alteration of "coorde", itself coming from Latin "cucurbita" (Grand Robert de la Langue Française). As said by Lewis in a companion message, gourd is also a Cucurbit species (or rather a group of related species belonging to genus Lagenaria, the taxonomy of Cucurbits being fairly complex and controversial).
