Overview

Sveti Ilija is some 20-ish km south of Varaždin with some 3,600 inhabitants (1993), in a hilly vine producing region, and this is reflected in the symbols. The county web site <www.varazdinska-zupanija.hr> showes the CoA: quartered, first and fourth gules a bunch of grapes vert slipped sable, second and third vert a fess wavy argent, overall a thunderbolt in pale and two arms grasping hands proper issunat from flanks clead argent. The flag is white with the coat of arms in the middle.
