Overview

The city of Varaždinske Toplice, some 12 km SE of Varaždin, has history reaching the Ancient Roman period, when it was known as Aquae Isae and were known for its termal sumporic spas. It is not surprising that the health tourism is today the most important economy in the pitoresque little city. Since the administrative reorganization in 1992 until rehawl in 1997 Varaždinske Toplice was a community. Population: 7,200 (Zemljopisni atlas Republike Hrvatske", Školska knjiga, Zagreb 1993).

white.)
