Detail of the oval
The flag is square, quartered in white, red, blue and white. In the first white field, there is the emblem of the Republic of Croatia Armed Forces (Oruz<ane snage Republike Hrvatske). The emblem is the same oval as on the flag of the Minister of Defense and presidents of parliament and government, with different symbols in it - a golden shield carring the Croatian coat of arms, behind which there are two crossed swords in saltire (the same kind of swords as on the Minister of Defense flag) with white square each on the hilts. In lower part of the shield there is lower end of a golden anchor, and at the top there is the winged emblem of the Air Force - golden with red lozenge. The wings enter partially into the golden border of the oval. The size of the oval is the same as on the Minister of Defense flag, that is approximately 43% of the flag hoist in height, and 34% in width. The position is in the middle of the white field.
