Vének is a small village in Győr-Moson-Sopron County in
Hungary near to the City of Győr (17
km north) in the Szigetköz Island of the Danube. The village has
got 158 inhabitants (1990 census), nearly all of them are
Hungarians. Neighbouring settlements are: Győr city, Gönyű and
Kisbajcs villages in Hungary, Trávnik (Füss) and Čičov (Csicsó) villages in Slovakia.
In 1910 Vének was a village in the Tószigetcsilizközi district
of Győr County. Number of inhabitants in 1910: 274; 274 (100,0%)
Hungarian by mother tongue, 273 (99,6%) Roman Catholic and 1
(0,4%) other by religion.
Ratio of the horizontal flag: 2:3. Ratio of the vertical
