Magyargencs is a village in Veszpre'm County (till 1950 in Vas County) in Hungary near to Town of
Pa'pa (23 km to north-west) on the Little Hungarian Plains. The
village has got 719 inhabitants (1990 census) all of them are
Hungarians. The first mention of the village is from 1268. The
village was in Vas County to 1950. The flag is going to be
adopted on 20. 08. 2000. On the flag there is the Coat of Arms.
The flag is white with red and green wavy lines and a gold edge.
Ratio of the flag: 3:2 and ratio of the "labarum": 2:5.

Symbolism of the Coat of Arms: The five stars in the red field
relate to the five historically noble family of the village. The
gold laurel wreath with the silver sword, which was symbol on the
cap of the Hungarian soldiers in 1848-49 (war of independence),
relates to the celebrity of the village, Miklo's Hertelendy
colonel of the Hungarian Army in 1848. The wavy silver stripe
relates to the Cinca Brook, and the three gold wheat-stalk
relates to the agriculture. Under the shield is the name of the
village.
