Description

Local Council Meitar (meaning 'cord', from Jeshaia 54:2) is situated in the north Negev, 17 km NE to Be'er Sheva. This Local Council, one of the 'red roof and private garden' communities that became popular in the last two decades, was established in 1984 and has 5,200 inh. The unofficial flag is the emblem on a monochrome field. I drew it as white with a multicoloured emblem but I wouldn't be surprised to see only an outlined emblem on various backgrounds. The municipal emblem was published in the official gazette (Rashumot), 'Publications Gazette' section (Yalkut ha'Pirsumim), YP 3982, 12 March 1992.
