Flag of a military authority

[military authority]
by Željko Heimer, 16 May 2002

Blue field with a white star above a shield of eleven vertical alternanting red and white stripes. (Source: [pay]) Note: the same flag appears as presidential flag in Flaggenbuch (1939-1941) [neu92].
Ivan Sache, 01 Jun 1999

The flag once used as presidential apparently remained in use as the “military authorities”’ flag, after the distinctive presidential flag was introduced. What exactly were (are) those authorities, and how this flag was used (ensign, signal flag, rank flag?), it is not clear to me. As for other flags, I question if the flag is used currently.

Encyclopaedia Universalis Yearbook 1998 says:

Officially, all armed forces were disbanded in February 1997. The 10 000 members of the ECOMOG peace-keeping force shall withdraw in February 1998.

Legislature flag

Jaume Olle informed me about yet another flag from Liberia, but what he has is only a photo that does not allow for reconstruction. The flag is blue with somekind of seal in the middle. Jaume names it the Legislature flag. Who can provide more information?
