The former municipality of De Wijk in Drenthe, the Netherlands, has been absorbed into the municipality of De Wolden. Sierksma (Nederlands vlaggenboek, 1962) has a horizontal RY flag, which was not official, but used by the local commercial association. Those colors were derived from the municipal CoA. Sierksma (De gemeentewapens van Nederland, 1968) states about the CoA: 'The 19 coins ('penningen') are derived from the family CoA of van der Clooster. The head is derived from the shield of the family De Vos van Steenwijk.' De Wijk consisted of the villages: De Wijk (seat), Eemten, Haalweide, Koekange, Koekangerveld, Noordwijk, Oosterwijk, Oshaar, Rogat, Schiphorst, De Stapel, Struikb
