Koarnwert village

Koarnwert (Dutch: Cornwerd) is a village in Wûnseradiel municipality in the province of Fryslân.
Flag: yellow over red, divided by a black hoist-diagonal; at the hoist the narrowed municipal flag.

Arms: in bend or, noir and gules, surmounting a swan argent armed or.
The swan reminds of the large flocks of swans hibernating near the village on the IJsselmeer - some of them stay there all year.

Koarnwert is a small village (c. 100 inh.) at a stonethrow from the
Ofslútdyk (enclosuredam, which connects Holland to Fryslân and the rest of the world). Agriculture and cattle-breeding. Obe Postma, a Frisian poet, was born here.
