Flag: Two equally wide horizontal stripes of yellow and blue; in blue towards the hoist a white fish.
In the flag the black boat has not been placed in the hope of a brighter future. The fish is a pars-pro-toto for the three fishes on the arms.. With the horizontal division it connects to the other coastal villages: Holwerd, Paesens-Moddergat, and Engwierum. The yellow as land and blue as sea depict accurately the situation along the Waddenzee.
