Heumen is a municipality in Gelderland province, formed in 1980 by the merger of the former municipalities of Heumen and Overasselt; seat: Malden (made famous by Monty Python).
The old municipal flag was: chequy of five rows of six blocks of yellow and blue, with a hoist chequy of 2x5 half-blocks of black and white.
The colors were derived from the old municipal arms, whereby the ermines in the canton were transformed to half-blocks.
Adopted 13 Mar 1963 by municipal resolution.
