Harenkarspel municipality
Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 15.801; area: 54,84 km². Settlements:
Tuitjenhorn (seat), Dirkshorn, Eenigenburg, Groenveld, Kalverdijk, Kerkbuurt,
Krabbendam, 't Rijpje, Schoorldam (part), Sint Maarten, Stroet, Valkkoog,
Waarland, Warmenhuizen.
In 1990 Harenkarspel, Sint Maarten en Warmenhuizen merged to form the
new municipality of Harenkarspel.
Flag: quartered of red and blue; adopted 4 Dec 1990 by municipal resolution.

Harenkarspel is a municipality in Noord-Holland province, c. 10 km north
of the city of Alkmaar. Before 1990 it consisted of three villages: Dirkshorn
(seat), Waarland, and Tuitjenhorn.
Flag: a hoist of blue and yellow, with on blue a yellow fish, on yellow
a red banded horn, and a fly of 10 stripes yellow - blue - yellow - blue
- yellow - red - yello
