Number of inhabitants (1 Jan 2003): 10.199; area: 22,27 km². Settlements: Doorn (seat).
Doorn is a municipality in Utrecht province, most noted for Huize Doorn, where former emperor Wilhelm II of Germany stayed from 1919 till his death in 1941.
The present flag was adopted on 29 Jan 1991 by the municipal council, designed by Hans van Heijningen.
Description: Eight equally wide horizontal stripes white -red, etc., over the first four stripes a red canton charged with a yellow
six-spoked wheel with diameter equal to 2/5 of flagheight.

Doorn former flag

The former flag was adopted 16 Apr 1962. Sierksma's Nederlands Vlaggenboek (1962) [sie62] has this description:
"Square, quartered of red with 3 yellow six-spoked wheel, placed 2 and 1, and of 8 equally wide horizontal stripes of white and red."
The flag is identical to the municipal CoA. In practice the bottom-stripe of the second quarter will become part of the fourth quarter, making this unusually high. The placement 2 and 1 of the wheel is incorrect
