Stefan Lambrechts spotted the villageflag of Vinkeveen at an Ebay-page:
The flag is white, with the coat of arms of the former municipality of
Vinkeveen en Waverveen in Utrecht province,
between vertical black letters "VINKEVEEN" and "HEEFT MEER" (= Vinkeveen
has more)
That former municipality is now in De Ronde Venen.
The text is possibly a pun at the alternative name of the soccerclub
"AFC AJAX-Amsterdan": "FC Vinkeveen" - in the 1970's some players
became by their successes so rich that they could easily afford a Maserati
and a bungalow in Vinkeveen. At the time Ajax' home was the Ajax-stadium
in the Watergraafsmeer, in southeast Amsterdam, popularly known as "De
Meer".
OTOH Vinkeveen is the center of the lake ("meer") area known
as the Vinkeveense Plassen, so the MEER may refer to that; or "we've got
more" may refer to the fact that the ordinary Vinkevener has got more (money).

1. There was already a Vinkeveen flag.
2. If they must use a LOB, they should have used the old Vinkeveen
coat of arms (in chief azure a finch or) for their pretended new village
flag.
Hans van Heijningen, 13 Mar 2005
The Vinkeveen en Waverveen Coat of Arms: per fess; I. a azure a finch
or; b. gules a fess or charged with two saltires noir; II. argent three
peatblocks noir, touching each other, placed 1 and 2.
