de white stripe the municipal arms. Adopted 19 Aug 1954 by municipal resolution.
Note: Sierksma's Nederlands Vlaggenboek (1962) has the CoA at

to his own (uncrowned) drawing.
Ellewoutsdijk CoA
by Jarig Bakker, 22 Jul 2004
Granted 31 Jul 1817
Description: Black, a fess argent, charged with a red St. Andrew's cross,
with on each side a cipher 11, equally red.
It is said that the ciphers are "4 of 10"; in olden days four out of
ten votes were sufficient to make the settlement into a town.
