In Wadowice Karol Wojtyla was born in 1920, at ul. Koscielna 7, which is now turned into a museum. The truly devote visit also the football pitch, where young Karol kept goal with some success. He became Pope John Paul II in Oct 1978. Perhaps the keys on the flag of the county (and arms of the city) are a reference to him.
