However, the
site quoted by Pascal now features a new design:
3. A triband BWB 1:2:1, with a CoA with a regular shield.
Description:
"The shape of the flag is a rectangular in which the ratio of the shorter
side (width) to the longer side (length) is 5 : 8. The pattern
of the flag consists of three horizontal stripes situated and coloured
accordingly:
The two external stripes are blue and take 1/4 of the width of the
flag each.
The middle stripe, white in colour, takes 2/4 of the width of the flag
and bears the Town coat of arms centrally placed."
While vertically placed, the flag bears the coat of arms centrally,
on the white vertical stripe."
The Resolution becomes effective on January 1st, 2001 and is subject
to being made public in the columns of "Gazeta Rybnicka".

The city of Rybnik is situated in Rybnik county, in the southwestern
region of the Silesian province and populated by almost 150,000 citizens.
In the Middle Ages, Rybnik functioned as a fishermen's settlement. The
town was founded under the German law in approximately 1308. The name of
the city originates from the ancient Polish word "rybnik" which means "a
fishing pond".
