Gniezno County (voj. Wielkopolskie). Flag adopted 27 Jan 2000. Flag and CoA are also available on this website. Gniezno (German: Gnesen) is a city with c. 70.000 inhabitants. Its ancient cathedral contains relics of St Adalbert (Polish: Wojetech), patron saint of Poland. The first king of Poland, Boleslav the Mighty, was crowned here in 1025 for second time. Coronation place of kings of Poland till 1320. To Prussia 1793 and to Poland 1919.
