Grand Duchy of Poznan

Grand Duchy of Poznan (semi-autonomous part of Prussia) had flag horizontally red-white, as Indonesia. 1849 GDP was renamed to Province of Poznan (German: Provinz Posen) and the autonomy was suppressed. In 1886 flag was changed by Prussian authorities into horizontal white-black-white triband, because the former was far too similar to Polish.
White-black-white triband was official provincional flag till 1918.

In Brockhaus kleines Konversations-Lexikon (1914) there is a short summary:
28.992 km2 (1910), 2.099.831 inhabitants; capital: Posen. Regierungs Bezirke: Posen and Bromberg.
Posen used to be part of Great Poland; ceded to Prussia in 1772 and 1793, 1807-1815 part of the Grandduchy of Warsaw, then back to Prussia.
Colors: White - Black - White;
CoA: Argent a Prussian eagle; on its breast an eagle argent in a shield gules.
