Description of the flag

Lot’s of symbols, some of them clearly of masonic inspiration. To the armilla and to the minor arms is added a cross of the order of Christ, plus five stars (the biggest surrounded by a kind of halo), and two coats of arms. In my humble opinion, it is quite a horrible design of a flag. It was designed by some A.P.S. fellow. The initials don’t give me much clues as to what is the man’s real name.

The depicted shields, are respectively the arms of Oporto and Lisbon! None of the more than 50 contemporary proposals I’ve seen is hardely interesting, but this one is defenitely the worse!

I could never imagine that someone can put the municipal arms of two cities in a proposal for a national flag!
