About the flag

It is a quite typical portuguese municipal flag, with the coat of arms centered on a background gyronny (meaning city rank) of yellow and blue. The coat of arms is gules under two hoes or crossed per saltire on a hammer of the same set in fess a local sailship argent dressed of the same issuant from a wavy fess azure charged with a fesslet argent above a counterchief of pebbles proper. Mural crown argent with five visible towers (city rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "CIDADE DO SEIXAL".
