About the flag

The flag is gyronny of eight, red and white; in the center, the coat of arms. These are: argent, an eagle gules, langued sable and crowned (around the neck!) argent, holding in its claws an enschteon charged with Portugal ancient (modern version — only five bezants in each eschuteon). Mural crown argent with five apparent towers (city rank) and white scroll reading "CIDADE DE OURÉM" in black upper case letters.
