Description of the flag

I designed this Flag for the LDS church. It contains:

  • twelve stars - twelve tribes - twelve apostles
  • star of David, Jesus is heir to throne of David overseeing all twelve tribes
  • blue color of Zion, Christ and baptism water
  • white color of holy ghost, pure heart, and many other things
  • Angel Moroni trumpeting in book of Revelations sounding gathering of twelve tribes
  • white and blue separated showing baptism is separate from gift of holy ghost, no trinity here.

Description of flag for copyright, the flag has a ratio of 1.6667 wide and is white on the left and blue on the right, divided in the middle. The star of David is in the middle, and is inverted blue and white to contrast from the flag. There are 5 white stars on the right hand side of the flag, and 5 blue stars on the left hand side of the flag. There are two additional stars, blue on one half and white on the right hand side. The stars form a circular pattern around the star of David. There is an angel Moroni superimposed on top of the star of David, and the colors are 1/2 white and 1/2 blue, and inverse from the star of David, contrasting the six point star.

Explanation:
This prevents people from trademarking it, which is what happened to the last mormon flag made in the 1800's by Emma Smith. It was copyrighted by someone in 2002. Most of the symbolism from the original flag including the colors have been represented here. The circle of twelve stars is the same as Emma Smiths version, but the center star said to Represent Jesus and Zion was replaced with a 6 point star. The flag designed by Emma Smith in the 1800's had a large 5 point star in the middle. I wish I could include a picture of the Flag by Emma Smith, but it is copyrighted and as such I can not legally share it. It is available for sale by the copyrighter, if you wish to obtain one.
