Naval rank flags

The following flags are from Flaggenbuch (1939): corvette captain, frigate captain, rear admiral, vice admiral, and vice admiral as chief of the Naval Service.
Calvin Paige Herring, 02 May 1998

These rank flags were abandoned after WWII, and have not been readopted in 1990's apparently. A four star version is currently in use, but it is not designated to the Fleet Admiral (as it might have been if rank flags are readopted), but for the Chief of the General Staff (which is not a naval position anyway). The current naval flags seem to have been given to positions rather then ranks. But, we have witnessed that the newly adopted jack was soon changed to the more traditional one (kind of), so it may well be that in the mean time the odd naval light blue flag might have been abandoned too. This is however, only my speculation and quite far  fetched and one should not take too much from it - however, my intention is to make us keep our eyes open for possible news from Romania regarding this.

The title in German in Flaggenbuch is "Chef des Marineleitung". I don't know what the better translation would be Chief of Naval Staff, or Chief of Navy as we have.

I speculate that at least theoretically there might have existed a similar flag with only one star for a Rear Admiral when holding the position of the Chief. Could that be verified?
