Proposals for a flag

On July 15th, 1998 Governor A. I. Lisitsyn signed Decision No458 On start a contest on best drawings of arms, standard and flag of the Yaroslavl Region — beginning the contest on best drawings of flag, coats of arms (after the descriptions, which are given in the Decision). In Addition to this Decision we read: «... description of the flag: rectangle field, three equal horizontal stripes: white at the top, yellow in the middle, dark-green at the bottom. Ratio — 2:3».
