"ON COAT OF ARMS AND FLAG OF YAROSLAVL REGION"
Adopted by State Duma on February, 27, 2001
This Law establishes Coat of Arms and a Flag of Yaroslavl Region, their
descriptions and official rules of using according to Statutes of Yaroslavl
Region
CHAPTER I. GENERAL PROVISIONS
Article 1. The COA and the Flag of Yaroslavl Region are official symbols of
Yaroslavl Region.
Article 2. Coat of arms of Yaroslavl Region: Or, a Bear statant Sable
holding with left paw an Fighting Axe Argent with a Staff Gules on his left
shoul-der.
The shield is surmounted with "yaroslavl prince`s cap" appropriate to
legali-zation of 1730.
The reproduction of the arms of Yaroslavl Region in multi-coloured and
one-coloured variant is supposed.
Article 3. The Flag of Yaroslavl Region is rectangular yellow panel with
ratio of width to lendth 2:3. There is a black bear holding a silver
fighting axe with red staff depicted in the centre of the panel.
The flag of Yaroslavl Region irrespective of its size should correspond to
its description given in present article.
Article 4. The specially authorized body on reproduction and use of the COA
and the Flag of Yaroslavl Region is the Council on Heraldry at Governor of
Yaroslavl Region.
Regulation on Council on Heraldry at Governor of Yaroslavl Region and its
structure are affirmed by the Order of the Governor.
The Council on Heraldry includes the persons having special knowledges in
heraldry.
Council on Heraldry at Governor of Yaroslavl Region carries out the activity
with authorized federal body on heraldry.
