One translates the motto: "ubumwe- umurimo- gukunda- igihugu"
as "solidarity- work- home country- nation"

... and the two golden things are African shields visible from their
sides? And what is the peculiar thing in the center of CoA, above the wheel?
Jan Zrzavy, 31 Dec 2001
The center of the Rwandan Coat of Arms shows a traditional basket that
is a gift of friendship among the Rwandese. Often times they are given
with successively smaller baskets inside one another, similar to Russian
dolls. When given at a wedding, it is symbolic of family values and the
promises kept within the house (note the lid on the basket).

The CoA has the vexillology rope knot at its base. I know this
is not in reference to our object of infatuation though, but it's nice
seeing it there.

Roundel of yellow-red-yellow-green in Album
2000.
This must be some later development, as Cochrane
& Elliott' Military Aircraft Insignia of the World does not mention
it,
but gives simple red-yellow-green roundel, and "sometimes" national
flag on the fin.

I guess that info is probably obsolete and new markings were adopted
with new flag.
The "Force Aérienne Rwandaise" was formed in 1972 and operates 4-6
helicopters.
